Lovingly restored, The Normans is a large Norfolk family holiday house that sleeps 14 guests in 6 bedrooms, each with their individual en-suite. Like a giant dolls house, four of the bedrooms stretch front to back leading from an impressive wide staircase that hugs the interior of the house.
Our holiday home is luxurious, quirky and full of unusual surprises - the perfect group accommodation for family get-togethers and celebrations. Whether you enjoy walking, beach life, or just hanging out by the fire, our holiday home in Wells-next-the-Sea is perfect all year round.

Lounge
This atmospheric, grand yet cosy room is painted in Farrow and Ball off black, the perfect spot to read the Sunday papers and take a snooze. The leather chesterfields are set around a grand marble fireplace and the shelves of books and oddities.
Kitchen
The bright and airy shaker style kitchen is flooded with light from its galleried ceiling with skylights.
Well equipped to feel like ‘home from home,’ has an upholstered bench seat (flanked by ‘the Great Crumbs’ the families border terrier,) which is great for those who like to lounge whilst others cook.
The kitchen hosts a Falcon range and induction hob, an american fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Dining Room
This beautiful room with its wall of windows and french doors opens onto the walled garden. A long dining table (which easily seats 14 guests) shares the space with a beautiful copper chandelier made locally (a copy of those in Morston Church.)
Snooker Room
Take part or watch in one of our favourite velvet armchairs with their enormous claw feet. After dinner snooker and chat.
Garden
Surrounded by the house’s original high wall which is an oasis of calm in all weathers, away from wilder weather and bustle of the town.
The garden offers a swing seat, petanque pit and ping-pong table, a Weber Kettle charcoal BBQ, chairs and table that seats 14 guests.
Cinema Room
Accessed via the garden the cinema has been converted from the house’s vaulted cellar. It houses a 75” smart TV and surround sound. Just bring your own popcorn.
Sulking Pink King Bedroom
This sumptuous room surveys both the front courtyard and the garden and sea behind from its dressing room. The paintings in this room are a reminder that we do like to be beside the seaside.

Churlish Green Superking Bedroom
Whether it’s good weather or bad it is always a delight to open the blinds in this beautiful room at the top of the house. Overlooking the changing sea landscape from Holkham to Stiffkey.

Garden Room Superking Bedroom
Wake up in your luxurious room and enjoy a cup of tea, listening to the sea-gulls, with the french doors open looking on to the walled garden.

Calluna King Bedroom
This ground floor bedroom is great for those who do not wish to scale the grand staircase to bed. The headboard on this comfy king size bed reflects the Dutch gables you will spy on flint houses dotted along the coast.

Teresa’s Green Twin/Three Singles Bedroom
A firm favourite with the kids at the centre of the house this room offers the first glimpse of the sea from the first floor.

Ball Green Twin/Three Singles Bedroom
Wake up and share the stupendous sea views at the top of the house with its Superking neighbour on the same floor.
(A few steps higher take you to the spy window where it was rumoured the wheat merchant/pirate who built the house watched his illegal cargo arrive by boat.)
